Soulfej at WIPO: Filing a Global Patent for Emotionally Intelligent Music

What is the Point?

In July 2025, YOUALITY officially submitted a PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) application to WIPO for a pioneering invention in the intersection of AI, music, and emotional well-being. The project, titled Soulfej, introduces a new standard in how sound and language can be used to decode and respond to human emotions.

Unlike prior systems based on biometric input, Soulfej focuses on natural social behaviors—analyzing:

– Tone of voice in voice messages
– Emotional undercurrents in written language
– Optional astrological insights for personalized patterns

The invention was designed not only for mental health coaching, but also for music therapy, emotional branding, and personalized soundscapes—offering each user a unique auditory companion shaped by their inner state.

The WIPO application follows an internal revision to clearly differentiate the system from earlier patents like US2019/189259 A1, emphasizing Soulfej’s distinct data sources and poetic framework.

What’s Next?

Soulfej is currently in its MVP (Minimum Viable Product) development stage, with YOUALITY preparing for both startup visa applications (e.g. the Netherlands) and early investor outreach by fall 2025. A visual and interactive demo is also being built to showcase how the system responds to emotional cues and generates tailored sound compositions.

Meanwhile, revisions under Article 19 of the PCT are underway to strengthen the claims before publication. These will focus on the poetic data framework, behavioral input types, and the unique blending of emotional intelligence, music generation, and narrative language.
